RAYNET is going to be fun again soon ! With the end of all (or most of) the Covid restrictions ending, being a member of Raynet is going to be fun again in the second half of 2021 ! Raynet (Radio Amateurs' Emergency Network exists to provide radio cover to "blue light services" and local authorities in the event of emergency situations where their own coverage either won't or can't work, but (in order to keep our skills up to speed) we are also allowed to assist other volunteer groups with events like Charity rins, walks, equine events, air shows . . . the list goes on ! Some Raynet groups (like the Sefton Group that I lead (the county North of Liverpool, South of Blackpool and West of Lancs) have lost members since the start of Covid. Luckily we have not had any emergency calls from our Covid in the last 18 months, but now these "fun" events are starting again. They can be busy radio nets, but they are often also interesting events in themselves, you can get more info from www,raynet-UK.net or if you are in Mersyside or Sefton you can contact me vis [email protected] Meanwhile, I'm in the process of moving home, but I'll be trying to contact WORKED ALL MOONRAKER as soon as I have my antennas up here in Southport :-)
