How Far Will a Yagi Antenna Reach?

Yagi antennas will transmit further than omni-directional antennas because the signal and power is directed in a single direction. Signal reach will depend upon many factors including the frequency, power output, antenna placement, antenna set-up, antenna size and your location. The more obstructions between the transceiver and receiver will impact signal range and quality. In general, a basic set up on 2m/70cms will transmit hundreds of miles whereas HF frequencies will transmit across continents.
