The AOR AR-DV3 is a compact, high-performance wideband receiver designed for monitoring both analogue and digital signals from 100 kHz to 3000 MHz. Combining extensive frequency coverage with advanced digital voice reception, the AR-DV3 is ideal for amateur radio enthusiasts, communications monitoring and anyone looking for a versatile desktop receiver in a compact package.

The AR-DV3 supports a wide range of analogue modes including CW, SSB, AM, synchronous AM, FM and WFM, as well as popular amateur radio and commercial digital systems including TETRA, P25, DMR, NXDN, dPMR, D-STAR, D-CR and YAESU digital modes. Digital auto-mode detection automatically identifies compatible digital signals and configures the receiver accordingly, while analogue auto-mode automatically selects the appropriate demodulation mode, IF bandwidth and channel step based on the tuned frequency.

The newly developed RF front end incorporates a 14-segment HF/VHF/UHF band-pass filter, providing improved suppression of unwanted out-of-band signals. A SAW filter in the IF stage further improves rejection of adjacent interference, helping the AR-DV3 deliver cleaner reception in busy RF environments.

For rapid frequency discovery, the receiver features two selectable high-speed search modes. Standard high-speed searching can reach 100 steps per second in FM mode, while the CYBER SEARCH function can scan at up to 600 steps per second, depending on the selected tuning step.

Audio performance is enhanced by a dedicated audio DAC, low-noise headphone amplifier and a wide-band, flat-response speaker. The built-in on-screen audio equalizer allows the sound to be tailored to your preference, while the AM noise-reduction function helps improve clarity when receiving weaker signals.

The AR-DV3 also features USB Audio Class 1 support, providing plug-and-play digital audio connectivity to a Windows PC and allowing direct compatibility with decoding software without the need for virtual audio cables. An optional Digital I/Q output module can also be installed, enabling operation with SDR# software for spectrum visualisation and signal demodulation.

For convenient data management, the receiver includes an SDHC card slot for audio recording with logs, memory backup and firmware updates. The free AOR utility software can also be used to manage memory channels, banks and search groups.

The AR-DV3 can be powered from a conventional 12 V DC supply or via USB-PD at 15 V (30 W or higher), making it suitable for both fixed-station use and portable operation with a compatible USB-PD power bank.
